The global community is currently experiencing climate changes at an unprecedented rate, largely correlated with human impact on our natural environment. Through the burning of fossil fuels, methane emissions caused by the livestock industry, massive deforestation, water and air pollution, and countless other human activities. As with many other issues, this has particularly impacted communities of color and lower income communities. Oftentimes these communities suffer from water and/or air pollution due to high levels of fracking, pollution, and other damaging practices that primarily occur in or close to these communities. There are many initiatives the new Biden administration is making to divest from fossil fuel, mining, and other environmental deleterious industries while investing in a new green economy.
